BEREAVEMENT AND GRIEF RESOURCES

During difficult times everyone can use some help and support. Please make sure to take care of yourself. If you are in need of emergency services please call 911 or have someone take you to your nearest hospital emergency room. If you need to speak to someone please connect with your healthcare team so they can refer you to support in your healthcare network to best coordinate care for you.

  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (800) 273-8255 or 988 number is available 24/7 for Americans dealing with a mental health crisis. Help is available in English / Spanish and for those who have hearing difficulties or deafness.

  • Northshore 24-Hour Crisis Hotline Call (866) 364-6667

  • HHS Maternal Mental Health hotline -The hotline is accessible by phone or text at (833) 9-HELP4MOMS (1-833-943-5746) in English and Spanish

Star Legacy

Star Legacy Foundation provides live, interactive, online support groups for families who have experienced a pregnancy loss, stillbirth, infant loss and for individuals experiencing a pregnancy after a loss. They have a wide variety of supports and resources available to bereaved families and have answers to commonly asked questions. They also help support expecting families.

March of Dimes

The March of Dimes offers advice coping with grief and loss after pregnancy or infant loss, as well as opportunities to help keep memories alive. Please visit their website for this and much more.

Sudden Infant Death Services of Illinois Inc.

Sudden Infant Death Services of Illinois, Inc. provides grief and bereavement support to any person who has experienced the tragedy of sudden, unexpected infant deaths, from birth to age 1 year,  regardless of cause or manner of death. Heartlight / Luz del Corazón

Heartlight/Luz del Corazón offers free support, online or in-person, for bereaved parents in English and Spanish. Our in-person groups are also open for siblings to engage in Grief & Loss activities.
